  • In 1961The First Officially Recognized Monopoly® Event Took Place.
    A Group of Sigma Alpha Mu fraternity students at the University of Pittsburgh ran out of money for the bank after four days of play. And beings they where playing by official Monopoly® rules, (which state that the bank never goes broke) they wired Parker Brothers, and asked for more money. So Parker Brothers sent $1,000,000 in Monopoly® money by plane, and had Brink's Armored Car Service to meet them at the airport. The cash was delivered to the fraternity, and the game went on.
  • In 1967 while finishing off a $2 million train robbery, the trains hijackers played a game of Monopoly® with the stolen money.
  • One of the largest Monopoly® games was played on a board which was laid out on the streets and sidewalks at Juniata College in Huntingdon, Pennsylvania. Players cast huge foam dice from the third floor fire escape and they were informed of their moves via walkie-talkie and messengers on bicycles.
  • NASA requested that Parker Brothers produce two specially engineered Monopoly® sets for playing on board future space flights. And Parker Brothers met this request.
  • Parker Brothers rejected the MONOPOLY® game when it was first presented to them in 1933, citing 52 fundamental playing flaws.
  • Over 5,120,000,000 little green houses have been “constructed” since the MONOPOLY® game was introduced in 1935.

  • In 2000 the Beekin council was setup and the First Beekin groups were Helpers and Welcomers. Which were officially launched 09/06/2000.
  • The Beekin group called the Guardians were formed in 2002,they used to be known as the Owlsa, created secretly in 1997. They are the law enforcement group for Furcadia.
  • In 2002 Masons, pixels, bugges, scribes, mentors and teachers were added to the Beekins.
  • Early 2002 Emerald Flame and Sanctimonious were promoted to Creators.
  • In 2003 they added the new Welcomer dream and DS Editor. The Naia Green map was added in the middle of 2004.
